LAGOM
Scott and Viquel Hawley of Torrin have ventured from their Rhone Varietal roots to create an exciting companion brand in the wines of "Lagom." These wines focus on the inherent grace and finesse of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from select cool-climate vineyards in unique pockets of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
In 1999 the Hawleys took a trip to Burgundy and became enamored with the beauty and grace of both the wines and the region itself. There it wasn’t about the grandeur of the modern wine world, but about the culture and tradition that lies at the heart of the region and its people. There was a welcoming ease that exuded confidence and contentment that was generations deep. The wines, the connection to the ground from which they came, and the weathered hands that guided them were enough and enough was indeed a feast. This was the inspiration for Lagom. Lagom is their philosophical muse. It reminds them not to look for answers, but rather to look at things from the perspective of what simply feels right. It encourages them to appreciate effortless beauty and the notion that “more”, often times distracts us all from the serenity found in just enough.
