This pinot makes a dashing and daring statement being 100% whole cluster fermented, and being from the cool and minerally site of Duvarita. Benny Holland, the winemaker, deftly handled the whole cluster process making sure the stems were very mature, so there are no green flavors that many of you may have tasted in other whole cluster wines. This wine has fine tannins from the stems and a nose of cedar and earth. The palate is confident in its delivery of gorgeous fruit of candied cherries and watermelon with nuances of violets, tea and spice. This a pure, expressive, complex, balanced, intrepid and superbly made wine. (Only 100 cases made.)
