If you’re serious about wine, then Antinori's 2023 Tignanello is a must-have. This isn't just another Tuscan red, but a wine that helped rewrite the rules of Italian winemaking. Born from the vision of Piero Antinori, Tignanello broke with tradition and ignited the entire Super Tuscan movement in Chianti Classico. Tignanello is produced exclusively from the vineyard of the same name since 1970. a parcel of some 190 acres with limestone-rich soils and a southwestern exposure at 1150-1325 feets (350-400 meters) above sea level.

Originally called "Chianti Classico Riserva Vigneto Tignanello" (a Chianti Classico Riserva from the Tignanello vineyard), it was the first Sangiovese wine to be aged in small oak barrels, the first modern red wine to use such non-traditional varieties as Cabernet in the blend, and among the first red wines from the Chianti Classico area to be produced without white grapes. So what you’re buying here isn't just a bottle, but a benchmark that every ambitious Tuscan wine still measures itself against. One of the most collectible wines in the Super Tuscan category, it sits in a rare sweet spot: both globally iconic, but still accessible (enough) to secure a few of your own.
