"The 2021 Chardonnay Sanford & Benedict is deep, layered and super-expressive. Orchard fruit, white flowers, mint, chamomile and tangerine peel are beautifully delineated. The 2021 offers a beguiling mix of fruit intensity and mineral-driven energy. Kevin Law gave the 2021 14 months in oak (all 500-liter barrels) and three months in tank. Côtière's success stems from working exact rows, blocks and clones within the vineyards they source from, so that small adjustments in farming techniques during the season can ensure the best fruit it sourced. "We are very fortunate to be involved with some of the best vineyards on the central coast, which includes Talley Rincon Vineyard, Presqu’ile, Hilliard Bruce, La Encantada, Murmur Vineyard as well as La Rinconada and Sanford and Benedict for all our Burgundy varietals. Working with Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir along side Santa Maria Valley is incredibly rewarding due to their unique expressions. Our primary goal is to capture that unique expression in every bottle made.
