J. Drouhin 2016 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
"A small parcel that yields just six barrels. Impressive citrus aromas with a flinty edge, as well as pithy lemons and grapefruit. It delivers a mouthwatering impression of power and clarity. The palate has a very succulent, powerful and refined feel with a stunning, saline mineral cut. Supreme concentration and power. This is great. Organically farmed grapes. Drink or hold through to 2025+." -James Suckling, 97JS
Founded in 1880, Domaine Joseph Drouhin has evolved and grown over the years to become one of the largest and most diverse estates in Burgundy. Their holdings include 183 acres of vines across 90 appellations, including Chablis, Beaune, Gevrey Chambertin, Chassagne Montrachet and Beaujolais. A vast majority of Domaine Joseph Drouhin’s vineyards are coveted Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots, noted for their complexity and character. Known for their philosophy around terroir, Joseph Drouhin practices organic and biodynamic viticulture techniques using horse drawn plowing, natural composting and allowing grass to grow freely between the vines. "Drouhin's style places the greatest premium on aromatic range and structural finesse." -William Kelley, Wine Advocate
