2014 The Paring Pinot Noir, Radian/Bentrock/Salsipuedes Vineyards

The Paring is another label from the family that brings us The Hilt and Jonata, made by the same talented winemaker, Matt Dees.  This bottling uses fruit from their own Radian and Bentrock vineyards, as well as a section of the old vine, Sanford & Benedict Vineyard that comes from the Mt. Eden clone.   Floral and perfumed nose of roses and fresh strawberries. Underlying the brightness on the nose, is a wine of earthy power and complexity; the perfect combination for pinot noir. Ripe raspberry fruit and hibiscus tea on the velvet palate along with subtle smoke, anise and pepper spice. Fine, dusty tannins and freshness from vibrant acidity on the finish.
