seagrapeSeagrape Wine

Seagrape Wine Company was founded in 2007 by husband and wife team, Dave Robinson and Karen Steinwachs, Karen having many years of winemaking experience with Fiddlehead and Buttonwood wineries. Located in Santa Barbara County, California, the intent is to produce wines that speak to the terroir of the most perfect places for particular varietals. They focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the cool-climate Sta. Rita Hills AVA.

A sense of place should be evident in each bottle of wine. So should differences in each vintage. Wine is more than just a beverage – it is part of a meal, a conversation starter, a reward for a tough day, a well-thought out gift for a friend. Therefore, wine should also be affordable and shared, and not something to be locked away as a collection. There are very specific spots on earth than can grow superb winegrapes, and for those of us that are lucky enough to live in those places, we should treasure this gift from nature and nurture it into the best wine possible.

2015 Seagrape Chardonnay, Zotovich Vineyard

Pale gold. High-pitched, mineral-laced aromas of fresh citrus fruits and white flowers. Dry, racy and sharply focused, offering lively Meyer lemon
and bitter pear skin flavors and a hint of anise.  Closes spicy and tight, with very good clarity and length and a hint of honeysuckle.   91 points
